Homes with ADUs are becoming increasingly popular (see my separate post on the value of ADUs for homeowners). They are increasingly popular because of the flexibility they offer in terms of accommodation for guest units or offices, as more people work from home, but with increasing interest rates and rising home prices, they can provide homeowners with valuable supplemental income. In this post I wrote about the. cost of building an ADU which is also becoming an increasingly popular option for people who are struggling to find a property already with one. It is worth noting that in Sonoma County, an ADU cannot be operated as a vacation rental in its own right. The rules are complicated but there is a way it can be leveraged as part of a vacation rental permit application.
Below are a range of homes that were on the market recently all of which has an ADU ranging from a family home in rural Santa Rosa, a wine country home on Westside Road in Healdsburg, a geodesic Dome high up on a ridge between Guerneville and Healdsburg and a first time buyer home at the new development City 44, also in Santa Rosa.
